We are pleased that you are considering joining Boerne Professional Artists as a new member. Boerne
Professional Artists (BPA) is an association dedicated to presenting opportunities that promote professional artists, art galleries and venues that support the visual arts in the Boerne, Texas area.

Members of BPA agree to:

* always pursue quality of craftsmanship and aesthetics and encourage others to do the same;

* represent with dignity and professionalism themselves and the BPA;

* support BPA by attending scheduled meetings (a minimum of three per year);

* serve the organization by participating in BPA-sponsored art shows and events;

* serve on one or more of the Teams needed to produce successful shows and events, along with ongoing organizational business duties.

* pay annual dues of $100

Meetings are held once a month, and are usually scheduled for 6pm on the second Wednesday of each month in the meeting room of the Comfort Inn & Suites Texas Hill Country Boerne, TX; 35000 IH10 W, Boerne (unless you are otherwise notified).


It takes all of the members of BPA working together to successfully accomplish our goals and aims. To that end, BPA has set up several different Teams to effectively share the workload. This allows the individual members to use their talents and skills (outside of the arts) in helping each other and making BPA all it can be. Members can serve on one or more of the following Teams:

• Logistics: various activities connected to art shows, such as help with signage, help with traffic flow, help with art show setup, arrangement, obtaining venues, working out details for events and sub-events.

• Marketing: work with Director Marketing, editing, creating, developing, writing, reviewing, suggesting and evaluating marketing materials and opportunities.  Distribution of publicity and marketing materials. Work with publications, email organization, etc. Engagement of outside organizations and other duties related to marketing/publicity/advertising areas such as chamber of commerce.

• Electronic Media: Work with Director of Marketing, maintain and creatively suggest and implement additions to website, facebook and other media in a proactive way helping market BPA and its shows and artists, as well as provide an information base for the public (potential members, those interested in attending shows, those interested in participating in shows, provide

recognition to sponsors, engage other businesses such as hotels, etc.) Help with audio visual setup at shows and events, investigate potential additional media sources for public and internal communications such as Iphone apps and special internet apps. Manage contracts with electronic media.

• Sponsorship: Work with Director of Sponsorship, pursue sponsors and funding that will support show and art activities, work with sponsors, establishing relationships and ensuring ongoing sponsorship involvement and sponsor recognition, coordinate with marketing team, assure website and other media up to date.

Membership: Work with Director Membership and potential members/show entries, actively pursue members for BPA that will contribute to the entire organization and that will support the organization goals, keep and maintain all membership records, ensure membership data is shared among officer team and membership, ensure website and other public media are up to date,  develop methods to expedite jury and membership processes, help fill art shows with artists as per show goals, coordinate with other teams supplying them with data as needed. Collect member images for marketing, maintain relationships with members to ensure speed and quality of entries, dues, etc. necessary for other teams such as marketing, treasury, etc..

• Administration: Work with Secretary, help with minutes or serve as backup on minutes and to do lists, keep records on attendance, maintain bylaws, create letter such as thank you letters, etc. and arrange for special situations such as member illness.death in family, etc., keep all past meeting agendas and minutes. Assist the president by coordinating to do lists, work on bylaws, etc.

• Finances: Work with Treasurer to obtain timely contribution of dues, recording funds obtained and expended, keep records, make deposits to bank, etc.


Finally, you will need to submit payment of your annual BPA member’s dues of $100, to be paid by check (mail to Carriage House Gallery, 110 Rosewood Ave, Boerne, TX 78006 or give to Don Darst, treasurer).

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST MEMBERSHIP

Open to working artists exhibiting originals or limited edition reproductions of their original works

Voting member

Jury Requirements: five digital/electronic images of artwork, a copy of current Texas Sales and Use Permit, completed application form, and a nonrefundable $40 jury/application fee (check, cash, or credit card)

$100 annual membership fee renewable every January ($50 if accepted after June 30)

Show participation fees (Parade of Artists, and TX Hill Country Invitational) to be determined year by year

Will serve on one or more BPA Teams


GALLERY MEMBERSHIP

Open to galleries representing working artists where fine art is 50% of their business.    

Voting member (one vote)

Jury Requirements: jury committee will visit and assess the focus of your gallery, copy of current Texas Sales and Use Permit, completed application form, and a nonrefundable $40 jury/application fee (check, cash, or credit card)

$100 annual membership fee renewable every January ($50 if accepted after June 30)

Show participation fees (Parade of Artists, and TX Hill Country Invitational) to be determined year by year

Will serve on one or more BPA Teams


BPA PATRON OF THE ARTS

Open to those interested in playing a crucial role in the success of BPA and who may or may not be an aspiring artist

May serve as an event chairperson, Team member or sponsor

No voting privileges

No Jury requirement

Dues and Other Fees: $60 per year

Patron membership may be granted by BPA officers without fee or with fee adjustment for support of BPA events to include Second Saturday Art & Wine, The Parade of Artists, and The Texas Hill Country Invitational

Patrons will receive certificates that can be displayed and will be recognized on the BPA Web site and other advertising venue


Throughout the year BPA produces various opportunities (“Events”) that highlight and showcase the art offered by BPA member artists and galleries. Professional Artist Members and Gallery Members have the option to buy into event advertising and appear in prestigious publications, as well as other designated promotions and venues. Among these events and venues are:


THE PARADE OF ARTISTS— This three-day premier event held in April and hosted by BPA, showcases the fine art of its professional artists via a self-guided tour of galleries, art studios and ‘other walls’ in Boerne exhibiting works by BPA artists.

TEXAS HILL COUNTRY INVITATIONAL Art Show & Sale— This three-day event held in October and hosted by BPA, showcases the fine art of its professional artists and gallery members, along with other art by invited artists. This is a comprehensive, elegant and significant art event that combines art display, sales, and other associated activities intended to draw art patrons, collectors, and lovers from beyond Boerne.

SECOND SATURDAY ART AND WINE— This monthly event open free to the public offers complimentary beverages and a variety of hors d'oeuvres alongside the fine art of BPA Member Artists and Galleries. This event is promoted through brochures and maps at the Boerne Convention and Visitor Center, as well as other published advertising opportunities.
