Noma Freeman paints in oils and acrylics. She enjoys painting colorful still life, the Texas Hill Country and coastal areas. Her paintings are in collections in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“I love plein aire painting and am always excited to start a landscape painting on location to capture nature, especially at sunrise or sunset, and try to capture the excitement of the moment to share with others. However, I don’t consider my paintings as solely en plein aire. I never rule out the possibility of finishing a painting back at the studio”.
She didn’t start to paint until 2010, after having finished a successful career in real estate and has no formal art education. Noma has taken workshops with Chaung Huang, Laura Robb, Mike Mahon, Barry McCuan, Guy Morrow, Patrick Saunders, Sidney Sinclair; Coppini Academy of Art; Southwest School of Art and Taos School of Art. She continues to study with local artists to improve her painting techniques and strives to improve her knowledge of painting.
Noma is a member of the Boerne Professional Artists, Coppini Academy of Art, San Antonio Art League, Laguna Madre Artists, New Braunfels Art League, River Art Group, San Antonio; and American Women Artists.
She currently displays her work at the River Art Gallery, San Antonio, TX; Laguna Madre Art Gallery, Port Isabel, TX and at regional fine art shows.
